The debut album, Skin Gets Hot, captivated listeners with lo-fi tracks that many of them describe as “dream like”. Though it has been over a year since the release of the project, there are hints of similarities between the first album and tracks released from their upcoming album. The first single off of their upcoming release Homeworlding is titled, “False Alarm”. Being the first track on the album, it sets the tone with an ambient guitar riff and engaging lyrics that evoke an episode of nostalgia and melancholy for listeners as tracks from the group often do. Though Fraternal Twin is the project of Tom Christie, both albums feature the creative abilities of other successful musicians including Aaron Maine of Porches and Leslie Bear of Long Beard. You are able to experience the charm of her voice in the second single released called, “Big Dipper”. The melodies delivered by her voice leaves listeners anticipating what else Leslie’s vocals have brought to the project as a whole. The single allows listeners to catch a glimpse of playfulness just before returning back to the feeling of despair. The two singles released hint that the intimate theme of hopelessness that was commonly felt within their previous album will likely continue throughout the upcoming project. The ten track LP, titled Homeworlding, is set to be out October 14th through Ghost Ramp.
